BroadwayWorld Interview: Vanessa Garcia And Victoria Collado of AMPARO

Speaking to the creators of AMPARO, Vanessa and Victoria, felt as easy as talking to family friends since we have a common story, Cuba. Yet, this story transcends Cuba. It transcends Miami. This story is about immigrants who were kicked out of their country and taken advantage of by their government. Yet, those immigrants never lost their resolve.

The Amparo Experience Tells the Cuban Exile Story in an Immersive Theater Production

MIAMI NEW TIMES | CULTURE

“Collado stands to the side of the room as her actors spill into the theater like water flows from a fallen cup, together at first and then spreading out like veins. In the middle of the scene, she stops an actor from completing his line. Clutching a half-burnt palo santo, she uses her hands to illustrate her point.”

Pandiani’s “That Rebel That” deals with the affects of love — Panther Now

When looking for a director, Pandiani immediately thought of Victoria Collado, an alumnus of the University, because of her unique and powerful statement as a director and as an actor.

“She has taken my script to another level; the ingredients were there but she’s mixing them in a different way. I wrote it and am acting in it, so it’s been interesting to see, during rehearsals, how the vision I had and Vicki’s process are uniting,” said Pandiani.
